This is exactly what Writer / Director Brett A. Hart started doing when he began having intermittent tinnitus.

An annoyance that he jokingly accused his producing partners of having contracted their very own tinnitus... which led his fertile imagination to begin brainstorming on a new story that immediately seized hold of his mind and wouldn't let go.
